NexentaStor is based on the ZFS fileststem so multi-level data protection features are built right in:

No Silent Data Corruption - With end-to-end checksumming and transactional copy-on-write silent data corruption is virtually impossible.
Snapshots - Unlike some systems that limit an administrator to only a few snapshots, the ZFS filesystem allows for unlimited snapshots. This gives great flexibility when designing a backup strategy.
Block-Level Mirroring - Setup real time mirroring for remote backups and disaster recovery.

Inherent I/O Virtualization

In addition to data protection, ZFS inherently virtualizes data, right at the file system:

Thin Provisioning - No need to reformat that file system, let your hosts virtually see a larger storage pool than is physically available and fill it in later when you really need it.
I/O Pooling - The more separate storage you add the faster NexentaStor can serve it.
