STEC's ZeusRAM Solid State Drive is a unique offering designed to deliver DRAM-like speeds in both reads and writes with the persistence of flash. ZeusRAM is an enterprise-class wear-resistant Solid State Drive that is targeted for high-write transactional oriented environments. These environments require fast write performance capabilities to speed up end user application throughput of NAS and unified storage appliances.
Built using STEC proven ZeusIOPS architecture, ZeusRAM delivers unprecedented speeds to file system metadata store, journaling and logging functions, database indexing and hashing operations. By reducing, the time spent by appliances on file system related overhead, ZeusRAM frees up appliance to process user IO, improving file system efficiency resulting in end user application speed up. The ZeusRAM come equipped with STEC Enterprise-class Data-Path Protection technology ensuring instant Data-Path Protection technology and instant data backup and recovery for unplanned. Full Data Path Protection
Any data that is transferred to the drive is protected via a powerful Error Correction mechanism. For the first time in the industry, the Error Correction is also applied to the cache memory and to the spare area of the flash, the critical area that stores the mapping information.
Power Down Protection
The ZeusRAM Solid State Drive employs both hardware and software mechanisms to prevent data loss in case of power fluctuation or power loss. The hardware protection prolongs power long enough to transfer all the data from the primary storage to the non-volatile memory. The software protection assures data integrity by verifying that valid data are not overwritten by corrupted data.
Extraordinary Environmental Specifications
Given that there are no moving parts and thanks to the optimized sub-system design, the ZeusRAM Solid State Drive can withstand extreme environmental conditions. The drive will survive Random Vibrations up to 16.3G and Operating Shocks up to 1,500G. Relative humidity can ranges from 5% up to 95% and altitude goes from 1,000ft (-304.80m) up to 80,000ft (24,384m).

The ZeusRAM Solid State Drive supports the S.M.A.R.T. feature (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology). The S.M.A.R.T. feature set protects the user from unscheduled downtime by monitoring and storing critical drive performance and calibration parameters. No unscheduled down-time is drastically reducing the total cost of ownership.
