The Area Storage Server WSS-5200 is a flexible Windows Storage Server 2008 Platform that can be coupled with LSI 3.0Gb SAS RAID controllers, enterprise-class Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) or high-capacity Serial ATA (SATA) drives and software solutions to create an Unified Data Storage server, disk-based backup and recovery appliance, network attached storage (NAS) with Single Storage Instance file de-duplication function, IP SAN (iSCSI) which can be team up Microsoft Hyper-V.

WSS-5200 is built with Dual Xeon Processor sockets empower with scalability to go from one dual-core Xeon to two quad-core processors with 12MB of L2 cache and eight memory slots make room for up to 32GB of RAM and dual Gigabit Ethernet controllers deliver tremendous speed within the network environment. The chassis midplane with built-in SAS expander, which supports SAS and SATA hard drives along with hot-pluggable connectivity and a single miniSAS cable bridging 4-port internal LSI SAS RAID controller and the enclosure's 12 SAS/SATA drives. The hardware SAS RAID controller card provides different RAID Levels (0,1,5,10,50 / 6 & 60) for SMBs to get the optimizing performance, flexibility and reliability.
